While the Sacramento Convention Center is big, like any venue it is not a place of limitless space.

"Each year we look at our options for improving the event, and finding more space for exhibitors and program sessions usually tops our list," reported Karen Ross, president of the California Association of Winegrape Growers and Lyndie Boulton, Executive Director of American Society for Enology and Viticulture, co-organizers of the Unified Symposium.  "We are especially sensitive to those who continue to be on our exhibitor waiting list, so this year one obvious and appreciated improvement is the addition of more exhibitor booth space."

For the 2008 show, the outdoor Terrace, the area adjacent to the third level registration area, will accommodate 25 additional booths in a tented pavilion. Opening up this additional exhibit space enables companies on the waiting list to participate and attendees to see more at the trade show than ever before.

STOP and READ

Recent direction from the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has prompted a major change in how alcoholic beverages are handled at the 2008 Unified Symposium. In order to be in compliance with ABC codes, ALL alcoholic beverages must be sold to and poured by the employees of the Convention Center's contracted caterer (Classique Catering), as they hold the Center's liquor license.

We have provided exhibitors and regional associations with compliance guidelines to support their participation.

No one can bring in wine or pour it except for the liquor licensee.
