NEW! Wine Tasting Session at the 2021 Virtual Unified Symposium

Winegrape growers are continually adapting to a changing landscape driven by climate change, consumer preferences, market conditions, labor availability and regulatory mandates. However, many winemakers and growers find comfort in the dependable types of grapes they have grown in the past and have unintentionally resisted expanding their varietals. If you have been considering looking into new varietals, the Unified Symposium is offering a session for you.

Join us for this grapegrowing session as we learn and taste commercially produced pure varietal wines from Dr. Andy Walker’s new Pierce’s Disease-resistant hybrid grapevines. Chuck Wagner of Wagner Family of Wines and Adam Tolmach of The Ojai Vineyard will share their experience in growing and producing wines that could pave the way for the industry. This session will examine some of the varietal options available to winegrowers, as well as the benefits of those varietals, and will focus on how to deliver better quality wine while addressing sustainable investments.

Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a tasting. There are a limited number of tasting kits available for purchase for $75, until sold out. The deadline to purchase a tasting kit for proper shipping is January 18, 2021. Please note that attendees do not need to purchase a kit to attend this session.
