Technology, Trends and Industry News at the 25th Unified Wine & Grape Symposium

For 25 years, the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium has served as the industry’s platform for news and the place to investigate the current technological developments and network with friends and colleagues. This year, the Unified presented the latest trends in wine and other beverages and an overview of the state of the industry, and ended with a broad look at how technology impacts the vineyards, wineries, wine production and consumer experience, as well as hosted nearly 700 exhibitors that filled the Sacramento Convention Center. Lance Winters’ keynote and tasting stretched imaginations and palates. Attendees’ chatter energized the halls, many admiring this year’s vibrant displays, taking selfies and posting them on social media. Many attended sessions like the one on Rosé, learned a bit about cannabis and listened in on a technology session from a speaker in New Zealand via Skype. Each year, the Unified works with volunteers and staff to elevate the show’s experience for the thousands who come through the Sacramento Convention Center’s door. The Unified Symposium and its two co-organizers, ASEV and CAWG, thank the Unified Program Development Committee members and sponsors for their generous support.

We look forward to seeing you next year at Cal Expo on February 4-6, 2020!

What to Expect for 2020 Unified Symposium

The Unified Symposium Managing Committee has been working closely with the city of Sacramento on the Sacramento Convention Center’s remodeling project, which will shut the venue down for a full year and require the Unified to find a temporary home for 2020. Many options were considered, but the committee decided to keep the show in Sacramento, moving it to the Cal Expo grounds five miles away from downtown Sacramento. For more detailed information, read the Cal Expo 2020 FAQ.

Cal Expo offers ample space, lots of parking and new opportunities for a show of the Unified’s size. The City of Sacramento, Cal Expo and Visit Sacramento have been working closely with the Unified Symposium to ensure a positive Unified experience during this temporary move. Stay tuned for more details as the planning takes shape. We’re seeing a lot of good energy and excitement for our temporary venue.
