The devastating wild fires that swept through Northern California
wine country this month left a trail of tragedy, destruction and
heartbreak. Thousands of our colleagues, co-workers and friends
have been seriously impacted, losing homes, income and, in the
most tragic of cases, lives. All of us at the Unified Wine &
Grape Symposium wish to share our deepest sympathy to the many
victims of these fires. Our thoughts and prayers are with
everyone impacted as they begin the long, painful process of
healing and rebuilding.
With anticipation building, it’s finally here. The 2018
Unified Wine & Grape Symposium opens its registration and housing
on Tuesday, October 24, at 9 a.m. (PDT).
It’s important to note that while the Unified Symposium offers
both registration and housing, there are two separate steps. We
recommend going to the housing page to
book your hotel first and then register for the conference. Here’s the
housing FAQs to help you understand the
housing process. Please remember, hotels in our room blocks sell
out quickly and not everyone will be able to book a room within
walking distance to the Sacramento Convention Center. However,
there are plenty of rooms in Sacramento and the surrounding area
outside of our room block.
While on the Unified Symposium website, we invite
you to look around. Find out how the 2018 Unified Symposium can
enhance and elevate your week with sought-after speakers sharing
industry expertise and information in addition to the three
floors of cutting-edge trade show. With so many options, whether
you work in an office, lab, vineyard or winery, there’s something
for everyone.
Some key features to help you plan your Unified Symposium week:

The Unified Symposium has been known for keeping the
industry abreast of the current trends and innovative solutions.
A key theme to notice with this year’s program is the focus on
Cabernet Sauvignon.Tuesday’s joint wine tasting session will take
a closer look at Cabernet Sauvignon wines at different price
points. The diversity and trends in Cabernet Sauvignon will be
addressed at the Spanish-language General Session.
Other topics to look forward to are regulatory changes in the
industry landscape, a look at FSMA a year later and disaster
preparedness and recovery.
Lastly, the keynote speaker for this year’s luncheon is
Gina Gallo of E. & J. Gallo Winery of which
Unified Program Chair Lise Asimont of Francis Ford Coppolla
Presents says, “I am so excited to hear from our first ever
female keynote speaker.”
“I can’t say enough about this year’s program. It is truly a
well-rounded approach that will look at issues from grape to
glass. The 2018 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium gives attendees
the tools they need to leave the conference inspired to make the
industry better,” she continues.
