Paul is the Analytical Laboratory Manager and Redwood Vineyards winemaker for Bronco Wine Company in Ceres, CA, He serves as the Assistant Chair for the Wine Institute Technical Advisory Committee and leads its Wine Components Working group. He also serves as the Assistant Chair for the Scientific and Technical Committee of FIVS, a wine and sprits trade organization based in Paris, France.

Tracy Genesen is the Vice President and General Counsel of the Wine Institute, the public policy advocacy association representing over a thousand California wineries and affiliated businesses responsible for 85 percent of the nation’s wine production and more than 97 percent of U.S. wine exports.


Mari Kirrane
Alcohol & Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, California

Mari Kirrane was appointed the Wine Trade & Technical Advisor for the Alcohol & Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau (TTB) in 2003. In this capacity she advises both the government and the industry on technical winemaking issues. She is a member of the TTB International Affairs Division and is an active participant in negotiating Trade Agreements covering wine.

Tim Ryan is Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, for E. & J. Gallo Winery. He is responsible for ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations in all areas of alcohol beverage production, distribution and advertising, for both U.S. and international markets. He also works through appropriate trade associations to monitor and influence relevant regulations on a global basis.

Tim earned Bachelor of Science and Ph.D. degrees from University College Cork, Ireland (1987, 1991) and a Masters in Business Administration from St. Mary’s (Moraga, CA) in 2006.
