On behalf of ASEV and CAWG, the entire Unified joins in expressing our sympathies to the family of Dr. Anita Oberholster, who passed away Saturday, January 11, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A professor of Cooperative Extension in Enology at the University of California, Davis, Anita was a serving member of the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium’s LLC Managing Committee, a consistent presenter in many of the Unified sessions and a long-time ASEV board member. Known for her recent work on smoke taint research, she was a regular presenter at many conferences and webinars throughout the wine industry globally.
Her loss is considerable, and we owe Anita a debt of thanks for her many contributions. Her passion, humanity, leadership and dedication to excellence will be sorely missed.
Click to read more about Anita’s remarkable life and career and celebration of life planned for May 12.
